HomeComing
If you thought my summer was an adventure just wait until you here about what's happened to me since my return back to Michigan.
--I started my last year of law school
--I started my first term on Law Review
--My mother turned 50 and I threw her a big birthday weekend celebration
--My sister moved away from home and started college
--I started training for my next 5k
--I hosted a bachelorette party for my bff
--I was the maid of honor in her wedding
--And I starting back at my old job, while volunteering for a new law firm in the city
Needless to say its been a bit of a whirlwind. I can't believe that I packed all that in the last 4 weeks. But the most life changing thing to happen was the passing of my Grandmother. She had been ill for the majority of the year, but no matter the circumstance its never easy saying goodbye to someone you've loved your entire life. I'm going to be honest I'm not sure if I'll ever feel like my normal self again. But I'm working on it :)
Have you ever seen the movie Julie and Julia?? Well I'm stealing my next blogging project directly from that movie. The movie is about a woman who is lost and looking to find herself again. She decides that the best way to go about that was to spend a year cooking her way through Julia Child's cookbook. Last Christmas my grandma gave me a cookbook, filled with all of her favorite recipes and mine. So naturally I have decided to spend the year cooking my way through her cookbook, cover to cover. I don't have many memories of my grandmother that don't involve some type of food and I think this will be a great way to remember her and keep her close to my heart. By attempting to make our favorite recipes she'll continue to nurish my mind, body, and soul.
I miss her more than any words could ever describe, but I know that she would want nothing more than for me to carry on and continue to achieve all of my dreams that she was so excited for me to have.
So stay tuned. First up is Sausage Lentil Soup
